Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What products do you specialise in?
A: Through SDM we specialise in security equipment with a strong electronics bias but the sky's the limit with DEW because we
have won contracts for a vast range of products.
Q: At what stage can I bring a project to DEW or SDM?
A: At any stage. Many customers have come to us with just a rough concept that we have been able to interpret and advance to a
full design.
Q: After the design stage can you then recommend a company to take my project on to fruition?
A: Look no further. At DEW and SDM we offer a complete design-to-assembly service.
Q: What does that include?
A: We have the expertise to take the product through the prototyping, testing and manufacturing stages.
Q: What expertise has DEW and SDM for that?
A: Our staff and sub-contractors have years of experience in the engineering and electronics fields and there are dozens of proven
products in everyday use which have come through our hands.
Q: What products are in the SDM range?
A: We are best known among banks and building societies for quick-deposit safes, anti-tamper mailboxes, ultra-violet signature
verification, till pedestals and cash-dispensing units.
Q: How do you deal with mechanical problems in this sort of security equipment?
A: Pure mechanical problems are rare because of the high degree of manufacturing quality we insist on. The mechanisms are also fairly
simple and thus have a very low breakdown ratio.
Q: What problems are possible?
A: As with all equipment used by the public, they get misused and have operating difficulties.
Q: What is your solution to problems?
A: We offer a maintenance, problem finding and repair service across the whole of England, Scotland and Wales. We guarantee to
respond to faults within two to five days. |
